Project of the Year

Say thank you to the projects that make a difference to your life and community.

The Project of the Year Award 2020, is for those projects with the aim of making a real difference to the community of the South Lakes area.


You can nominate a project that is a run by an organisation or group of people, by adults or children.

The project must have happened within the South Lakes area and have taken place within the last 12 months.


Previous finalist have included:

  • Keswick 2 Barrow for their 50 years of voluntarily organising the famous walk, generating interest and sponsorship and providing the fund raising efforts to 100’s of local charities.
  • A Stitch Different from running their Stitch Ability project, aimed at giving people with varying abilities a route to education and work experience.
  • The Red Box Project for helping to provide sanitary products to schools across the South Lakes area by having local collection points for the community to donate.
  • Barrow Street Angels for providing support tot he night time economy in making sure people stayed safe and had the help and advice they needed on nights out.
